Babylonia has been operating as a successful language school in the heart of Zurich since 1994. We specialise in teaching German as a second language, focussing on expatriates working in international companies, as well as on their families. In order to meet their needs, i.e. flexibility with regard to scheduling and teaching methods, we mainly offer private tuition, which enables us to design personalised language courses.

Mission Statement

Babylonia is a language school that specialises in German courses for non-native speakers, in particular executives of international companies and their families. Our course schedules are flexible and we mainly teach on a one-on-one basis.

We welcome every course participant as an honoured guest whose individual learning needs are our top priority. Our teachers establish a positive learning atmosphere that enables students to relax and take in new knowledge, practice and review what they have learnt, profit from feedback and enjoy a sense of achievement. By boosting learners’ self-esteem, we encourage them to apply their newly acquired language skills. We motivate them to persist in their learning objectives and assist them in reaching these goals.

At the same time, we help participants to understand the Swiss way of life and support them in their efforts to integrate in Switzerland. In doing so, we act as mediators of language and culture.
